~ lovesprung ~ collections dress the charming and whimsical girls

OUR STORY

{ lovesprung } began as { Angel.Candy-Rock }, a little thread in the marketplace of a doll forum in 2005. It stocked simple casual clothes for dolls made by hand and a serger.
Our shop underwent a rebranding in 2012, where { lovesprung } could better represent the style of clothes we design. My mother sewed her own designs sometimes, and her clothes come under our sub brand { piccola fenice }.
In recent years, with the addition of two human babies, our seamstress mother has since retired from sewing and I am now a one-woman-show behind our brand. I started a new modern vintage kimono series in 2021, introducing Taisho Roman pieces and lately, luxurious gathered lace furisode kimono for the romantic dolly girls. More lolita/cottagecore dresses are also in the works for 2022.

With our love for unique and lovely fashion, we hope to produce collections that adorn the fashionably lovely doll.

More about our retired seamstress (pre-2022)

Mother hard at work sewing pintucks.

Mother is aged 69 this year (2017) and has been sewing before I was born. I remember picking up needles she dropped on floors, and the bags of clothes she sped through to earn her living and bring up my brother and I when I was just a toddler. She is renowned for her professional and clean sewing, ensuring final products flow beautifully without a fault. She is also an efficient and precise seamstress. (I am glad she stepped in to sew my bridal gown, too! <3)

I remember mother was apprehensive with sewing for dolls when I first started out in this hobby, but after seeing the little clothes I sewed together haphazardly (without skill), she decided to bring in her expertise to elevate our creations together. :) I am very, very honoured to have her use her amazing skills to sew something so small as dolly clothes, and feel much pride in the finished products we offer to you.

I hope she continues to enjoy making beautifully tailored clothes for your ball-jointed girls, and that she also gets a more restful life after retiring from the local costume sewing scene. Sewing isn't easy, sometimes she would sit by the machine for hours getting a piece to turn out just right, and ignore the aches in her shoulders (pain that she has accumulated over the years of bending over the machine or hand sewing findings). From the pictures you can also see she is suffering from arthritis (swollen joints). She is a brave woman and have went through two operations to her knees to replace her knee caps with metal ones so she can continue an active lifestyle with reduced pain. I'm sure her fingers bother her as well but she isn't complaining nor does she show it.

She is never one to stay idle, so I hope the pain doesn't bother her as much and she continues to live a life full of joy and achievements.

I am glad we get to collaborate in this way as mother and daughter and hope you will also enjoy our final creations with your dolls.
